Christmas morning always started the same way. Somebody was up way too early, the tree lights were already plugged in, and a mug of hot chocolate with too many marshmallows sat going cold on the coffee table because nobody could sit still long enough to drink it.
This is the tree from that morning, rebuilt in chunky pixel art like it loaded off a game cartridge. Old-school bulbs in red, orange, yellow, green and blue, silver garland looped around the branches, and a gold star on top, with HOLIDAY MODE underneath in red-and-green title-screen lettering.
I made it for the slow part of the season, when the plans can wait and the only decision left is coffee or cocoa. Fill it up and stay in holiday mode.
